Careers

The permanent cosmetics program is designed to teach the safest, most effective permanent makeup application techniques as well as a foundation of business practices and marketing. A career in permanent makeup can be your path to being your own boss, working a flexible schedule and getting paid what you are worth. The Esthetic Institute provides Permanent Makeup Training that will help you get started in this rapidly growing, lucrative field. Attractive to many students are the opportunities and financial rewards of a career in Permanent Cosmetic Make-up. Technicians working in conjunction or cooperation with either a physician’s office or a variety of salons, find that the potential for growth is great.

The Society of Permanent Cosmetic Professionals conducted a survey in 2012, which determined that most permanent cosmetic makeup artists originally started their careers in cosmetology, esthetics and skin care, nail technology, tattooing, nursing, electrology and laser hair removal, or medicine. About 30% of the respondents indicated that they continue to work as estheticians, and 25% said they continue to work as cosmetologists in addition to permanent cosmetics. This suggests that many individuals pursue an education in permanent cosmetics as a way to add value to their beauty services and augment their income.

The same survey concluded that Permanent Cosmetic Technicians work in:

  • Full-service or multi-faceted salons
  • Doctor’s or dermatologist’s offices
  • Day spas
  • Tattoo studios
  • Electrolysis clinics
  • Massage therapy clinics
